In some circumstances, a stale value could have been used for a global variable in WASM JIT analysis. A parsing and event loading mismatch in Firefox's SVG code could have allowed load events to fire, even after sanitization. An attacker already capable of exploiting an XSS vulnerability in privileged internal pages could have used this attack to bypass our built-in sanitizer. In some cases, an untrusted input stream was copied to a stack buffer without checking its size. This resulted in a potentially exploitable crash which could have led to a sandbox escape. When creating a callback over IPC for showing the Color Picker window, multiple of the same callbacks could have been created at a time and eventually all simultaneously destroyed as soon as one of the callbacks finished. By holding a reference to the _ function from an about:blank window, a malicious webpage could have gained access to the InstallTrigger object which would allow them to prompt the user to install an extension. Combined with user confusion, this could result in an unintended or malicious extension being installed. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 80, Thunderbird &lt; 78.2, Thunderbird &lt; 68.12, Firefox ESR &lt; 68.12, Firefox ESR &lt; 78.2, and Firefox for Android &lt; 80. (CVE-2020-15664)

By exploiting an Open Redirect vulnerability on a website, an attacker could have spoofed the site displayed in the download file dialog to show the original site (the one suffering from the open redirect) rather than the site the file was actually downloaded from. When processing a MAR update file, after the signature has been validated, an invalid name length could result in a heap overflow, leading to memory corruption and potentially arbitrary code execution. Excel `.xll` add-in files did not have a blocklist entry in Firefox's executable blocklist which allowed them to be downloaded without any warning of their potential harm. When trying to load a non-video in an audio/video context the exact status code (200, 302, 404, 500, 412, 403, etc.) was disclosed via the MediaError Message. This level of information leakage is inconsistent with the standardized onerror/onsuccess disclosure and can lead to inferring login status to services or device discovery on a local network among other attacks. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 80 and Firefox for Android &lt; 80. (CVE-2020-15666)

The error page for sites with invalid TLS certificates was missing the
activation-delay Firefox uses to protect prompts and permission dialogs
from attacks that exploit human response time delays. If a malicious
page elicited user clicks in precise locations immediately before
navigating to a site with a certificate error and made the renderer
extremely busy at the same time, it could create a gap between when
the error page was loaded and when the display actually refreshed.
With the right timing the elicited clicks could land in that gap and 
activate the button that overrides the certificate error for that site. This vulnerability affects Firefox ESR &lt; 102.12, Firefox &lt; 114, and Thunderbird &lt; 102.12. (CVE-2023-34414)

If the Compact() method was called on an nsTArray, the array could have been reallocated without updating other pointers, leading to a potential use-after-free and exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 83, Firefox ESR &lt; 78.5, and Thunderbird &lt; 78.5. (CVE-2020-26960)

libexpat before 2.4.9 has a use-after-free in the doContent function in xmlparse.c. (CVE-2022-40674)

When DNS over HTTPS is in use, it intentionally filters RFC1918 and related IP ranges from the responses as these do not make sense coming from a DoH resolver. However when an IPv4 address was mapped through IPv6, these addresses were erroneously let through, leading to a potential DNS Rebinding attack. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 83, Firefox ESR &lt; 78.5, and Thunderbird &lt; 78.5. (CVE-2020-26961)

When receiving rendering data over IPC `mStream` could have been destroyed when initialized, which could have led to a use-after-free causing a potentially exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 117, Firefox ESR &lt; 102.15, Firefox ESR &lt; 115.2, Thunderbird &lt; 102.15, and Thunderbird &lt; 115.2. (CVE-2023-4573)

OneCRL was non-functional in the new Firefox for Android due to a missing service initialization. This could result in a failure to enforce some certificate revocations. *Note: This issue only affected Firefox for Android. Other operating systems are unaffected.*. Firefox sometimes ran the onload handler for SVG elements that the DOM sanitizer decided to remove, resulting in JavaScript being executed after pasting attacker-controlled data into a contenteditable element. A bug in popup notifications delay calculation could have made it possible for an attacker to trick a user into granting permissions. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 116, Firefox ESR &lt; 102.14, and Firefox ESR &lt; 115.1. (CVE-2023-4047)

When listening for page changes with a Mutation Observer, a malicious web page could confuse Firefox Screenshots into interacting with elements other than those that it injected into the page. This would lead to internal errors and unexpected behavior in the Screenshots code. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 83. (CVE-2020-26967)

A website could have obscured the fullscreen notification by using a URL with a scheme handled by an external program, such as a mailto URL. This could have led to user confusion and possible spoofing attacks. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 115, Firefox ESR &lt; 102.13, and Thunderbird &lt; 102.13. (CVE-2023-37207)

An out-of-bounds read could have led to an exploitable crash when parsing HTML with DOMParser in low memory situations. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 116, Firefox ESR &lt; 102.14, and Firefox ESR &lt; 115.1. (CVE-2023-4048)

Heap buffer overflow in vp8 encoding in libvpx in Google Chrome prior to 117.0.5938.132 and libvpx 1.13.1 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2023-5217)

When recursing through graphical layers while scrolling, an iterator may have become invalid, resulting in a potential use-after-free. This occurs because the function APZCTreeManager::ComputeClippedCompositionBounds did not follow iterator invalidation rules. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 81, Thunderbird &lt; 78.3, and Firefox ESR &lt; 78.3. (CVE-2020-15678)

When the number of cookies per domain was exceeded in `document.cookie`, the actual cookie jar sent to the host was no longer consistent with expected cookie jar state. This could have caused requests to be sent with some cookies missing. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 116, Firefox ESR &lt; 102.14, and Firefox ESR &lt; 115.1. (CVE-2023-4055)

Some websites have a feature &quot;Show Password&quot; where clicking a button will change a password field into a textbook field, revealing the typed password. If, when using a software keyboard that remembers user input, a user typed their password and used that feature, the type of the password field was changed, resulting in a keyboard layout change and the possibility for the software keyboard to remember the typed password. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 83, Firefox ESR &lt; 78.5, and Thunderbird &lt; 78.5. (CVE-2020-26965)

The 'Copy as cURL' feature of Devtools' network tab did not properly escape the HTTP method of a request, which can be controlled by the website. Heap buffer overflow in libwebp in Google Chrome prior to 116.0.5845.187 and libwebp 1.3.2 allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory write via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical) (CVE-2023-4863)

Firefox did not block execution of scripts with incorrect MIME types when the response was intercepted and cached through a ServiceWorker. This could lead to a cross-site script inclusion vulnerability, or a Content Security Policy bypass. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 83, Firefox ESR &lt; 78.5, and Thunderbird &lt; 78.5. (CVE-2020-26958)

In some cases, removing HTML elements during sanitization would keep existing SVG event handlers and therefore lead to XSS. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 83, Firefox ESR &lt; 78.5, and Thunderbird &lt; 78.5. (CVE-2020-26956)

Sectona Spectra before 3.4.0 has a vulnerable SOAP API endpoint that leaks sensitive information about the configured assets without proper authentication. This could be used by unauthorized parties to get configured login credentials of the assets via a modified pAccountID value. Firefox did not reset the address bar after the beforeunload dialog was shown if the user chose to remain on the page. This could have resulted in an incorrect URL being shown when used in conjunction with other unexpected browser behaviors. This vulnerability affects Firefox &lt; 80. (CVE-2020-15665)

Heap buffer overflow in Freetype in Google Chrome prior to 86.0.4240.111 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2020-15999)
